Cardigan School

Cardigan is a school in the United States.It is a boarding school.Ninety percent of the student live in dormitories.So,they do everything together at school.Student get up early in the morning and have breakfast together.Before the morning classes start,they return to their bedrooms to make the beds and clean their rooms.After school they usually do sports or other extracurricular activities.In the evening they have dinner together.Then they prepare themselves for the next day.Some of them do their homework and others study for their test.Before they go to bed,they have time to relax.They chat with their feriends,read magazines or call home.

Magician

Alexander Scott is a magician.He perform many magic tricks to fool the audience.He began to study magic as a boy.Now he is very famous.His favorite tricks is to suspend his assistant in the air.Then,he passes a ring under her body.There is nothing holding her up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walt Disney

Walt Disney was an American Filmmaker best known for his cartoon and films for children.He was born in 1901 and died in 1967.Disney characters,especially Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck,are famous all over the world.Walt Disney began his work in the 1920s.His cartoon artists or animator produced characters and settings that moved realistically.Full length Disney cartoon features such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,Pinocchio,and Bambi are still popular everywhere.

A Passion to Created

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881.He is one of the most famous artists in the world.When he was young,he amazed his friends by drawing a perfect picture without lifting his pencil or looking at the paper.Pablo had many different periods in his art work. Two of his most famous paintings are GUERNICA and the Young Ladies of Avignon. He even created a new way to sculpt and paint!!his work was also an important step in modern art.Picasso painted things the way he saw and felt about them.The way he saw thing wasn't always as they relly were.He kept on working right up to his death in 1973.Picasso took many risks in his life. The nazis said that sculptors could not use bronze to create statue.But he stiil used bronze after one of his close friends commented to him that plastic was temporary and bronze forever.Pablo was very creative and had a deep passion for his work.His friends urged him to retire when he was 78 but he refused.Pablo was so productive that some of the critics thought that his work was superficial.Sometimes he painted three paintings in a day. He was "obsessedwith that creative process it self and would work on a theme in many different mediums until he had made it part of him self".(Macdonald,Pablo Picasso).Pablo Picasso will always be famous becouse he dared to be different.

Alfred Russel Wallace

Alfred Russel Wallace is best known as the english naturalish who independently proposed natural selection as a procces to explain the origin of species.He meet Henry Walter Bates,an entomologist,and they went on a collecting trip to the amazon.Wallace's knowledge of world's extensive flora and fauna was much expanded by a tour he made of the Malay Archipelago from 1854-1862.After studying the animals of every important island,he divided the island into a western group,with animals like those of the Orient,and an eastern group,with animals like those of Australia.The dividing line between the island of the archipelago is a narrow but deep strait that is now known as the Wallace Line.
